Born out of a simple ecological principle of the interdependence of natural systems, Keystone Foundation is an Indian organization whose work focuses on the socio-ecological growth of all life on the Niligiri Biosphere Reserve (NBR). Over time, the scope of their work has transcended boundaries to include the tribal population in other parts of the country and to work with other organizations, both national and international, that share the same ethos and vision.
KF’s research and action centers around livelihoods of indigenous communities, agriculture and food security, land and community rights, community health and development and conservation of biodiversity.
KURINJI and Keystone Foundation started their collaboration in March 2022.
KURINJI donates 100% of the profits from the sale of Artemis, our 100% viscose T-Shirt, to the organization. Artemis includes a traditional embroidery element which represents a bee, handmade by our artisans in India. The bee is one of the symbols of the Kurinji Region. The rare honey they produce comes from the greenish-yellow nectar of the Kurinji shrub that only blossoms once in 12 years.
